You grin to yourself as you remember the goblins' rather one sided version of Lord of the rings. Reaching forward you flip up the handle on the front of box 1973. no sooner is the door half open, than from within comes the grinding of gears and scrape of metal. You lean forward interestedly, but have to dive aside as something snaps out of the box and hovers stil thrumming slightly in the air in front of you.

you see it's a small metal hand on a long iron spring. Held firmly in the grasp of the long metal fingers you see a tiny leather box about the size of a creddit card and as thick as your thumb. You smile to yourself. You've seen boxes like that before, usually in the windows of Jewelers shops, and often with price tags attached to the tops baring a good few zeros.

Reaching forward you gently take the little jewel case from the metal hand, which quickly retreats back into it's box, the numbered door flipping down behind it like the lid of a jack in the box.

Eagerly you flip open the case, expecting to see rubies and diamonds at the very least. however your moderately disappointed to find a small ring of plane unadorned silver. While your no expert, your pretty sure that a plane silver ring really isn't worth much. Stil, it's better than nothing.

Lifting up the ring you see a small folded piece of paper undernieth which you take and read. However what it says is hardly illuminating.

"the two ring"

Shrugging sadly you slip the ring briefly onto the end of your thumb, then blink in surprise as suddenly your thumb disappears. Looking down, you see nothing but the white painted floor of the boxing ring with the shadows of the boxes stretching across it.

You pull the ring off, and there you are again as large as life. slipping it back on once again, you see nothing of yourself at all. You hold a hand up to cover your eyes but though you can feel it, there is absolutely nothing obscuring your view of the room.

wow! now this was! some real magic. You slip the ring off again thinking of all the interesting places you could go with a ring of invisibility, bank valts, politicians' secret meetings, within bottom kicking distance of reality tv presenters.

It might not be precious, but it could be damnably useful!

you do find yourself wondering briefly why it makes your clothes, not to mention the food inside your stomach invisible, then realize just how disgusting and truly inconvenient it would be if it didn't, obviously whoever designed magic rings was not an idiot.

Slipping the ring happily into your pocket and feeling a new sense of confidence, you turn around to the eastern passage and stride resolutely towards it. halfway across the room, your foot slips on the metallic floor and you do a very undignified splits.

After a rather hasty recovery, you give up with the resolute striding (clearly that requires sturdier footware), and continue walking normally along the new tunnel.

continue oh intrepid hero.

The horrible dungeons of dreadful doom.
